Using the calendar
How to read and work in the Calendar, from switching views to blocking off time.
The four views
Go to https://slotwise.skotechlabs.com/app/calendar to see your bookings. Switch between four views depending on what you need:
- Day — one column per team member, useful for seeing everyone's schedule side by side.
- Week — a full week at a glance.
- Month — a high-level view of how busy each day is.
- List — a simple scrollable list of appointments.
Use the team member filter above the calendar to show only one person's bookings, or everyone's.
Starting a booking from the calendar
- Switch to Day or Week view.
- Click an empty time slot for the team member and time you want.
- Fill in the customer and service details in the panel that opens.
- Click Save.
This is the fastest way to add a booking for a customer who calls or walks in.
Moving an appointment
- Click and drag the appointment to its new time or column.
- Release to drop it in place.
If the new time conflicts with another booking, Slotwise refuses the move and asks you to confirm — choose Book anyway if you're sure, for example when you know two short jobs can genuinely overlap.
Blocking off time
- Click Block time (or click an empty slot and choose it from there).
- Set the date, time and reason.
- Click Save.
Blocked time appears on the calendar like an appointment, so no one can book over it — useful for lunch breaks, staff meetings, holidays or maintenance.
Reading the calendar
A line marks the current time, so you can see at a glance what's coming up next. Pending appointments — bookings still awaiting your approval — stand out visually from confirmed ones, so they don't get missed in a busy day.
Opening an appointment
Click any appointment to open a side panel showing the customer, the services booked, the price, payment status, any notes, and the actions available for that booking. See "Managing appointments" for the full list of statuses and what each action does.
Tip If you work alone, List view is often faster for scanning your day than switching between Day and Week.
Tip With several staff, Day view's per-person columns make it easy to spot who's free before you book a walk-in.
Tip Use Block time for recurring commitments, like a weekly team meeting, not just one-off absences.
Tip Keep an eye on the current-time line during a busy day — it's a fast way to see whether you're running behind schedule.
