Online payments with SSLCommerz
Turn on SSLCommerz so customers can pay online by card or mobile banking at checkout.
What online payments do for customers
By default, customers booking through your Booking page can pay at the appointment, or send bKash, Nagad, or Rocket money and enter the transaction ID at checkout. Turning on online payments adds a third option: paying by card or mobile banking directly at checkout, processed securely through SSLCommerz.
While a customer completes an online payment, Slotwise holds their chosen slot for 20 minutes. That gives them time to finish paying without losing the appointment to someone else, while keeping the slot from being tied up indefinitely if they abandon checkout.
Setting up SSLCommerz
Online payments are configured once, for your whole business.
- Go to https://slotwise.skotechlabs.com/app/settings and open the Payments tab under Business settings.
- Turn on online payments.
- Enter your SSLCommerz Store ID and Store password.
- Click Save.
Tip Copy and paste your Store ID and Store password from SSLCommerz rather than typing them by hand — a single mistyped character will silently break checkout for every customer.
Testing in sandbox mode
Before you take real payments, use the sandbox switch on the same Payments tab to put online payments into test mode. Sandbox mode lets you book and pay for a test appointment end to end without moving real money, so you can confirm checkout looks and works the way you expect.
- Turn on the sandbox switch.
- Book a test appointment through your own Booking page.
- Pay using SSLCommerz's sandbox test details.
- Confirm the appointment's payment status updates correctly.
- Turn the sandbox switch off when you're ready to accept real payments.
Tip Always test in sandbox mode first, even if you've used SSLCommerz elsewhere before — it confirms your Store ID and password are entered correctly for Slotwise specifically.
Tip Walk through the sandbox checkout on a phone as well as a desktop. Most of your customers will be paying from a phone.
Plan requirements
Online payments is a feature included on some plans and not others. If you don't see the option to turn it on under Business settings → Payments, check "Plans and billing" to see whether your current plan includes online payments, or whether you need to upgrade.
Tip Combine online payments with a deposit set on your services. A customer who pays part of the cost by card at the time of booking is far less likely to no-show than one who only reserves a slot.
